The main sensor sizes are close on paper. The more important split is lenses and workflow. Luna Ultra's 60mm-equivalent second camera gives you a real tighter angle. Pocket 4 keeps one wide view and uses its space and processing budget elsewhere.

Buy Luna Ultra for two focal lengths and U.S. availability

The second camera is Luna Ultra's clearest practical advantage. A 20mm-equivalent lens is useful for self-recording, interiors, and walking. A 60mm-equivalent lens gives faces a less stretched perspective and lets you collect detail shots without walking the camera into everything. That makes the final edit less visually repetitive.

The detachable screen also changes placement. Keep it attached for normal handheld filming, rotate it for self-framing, or remove it when the camera is on a small tripod across the room. The 8K mode leaves room for some reframing, while 10-bit I-Log is there for a deliberate grading workflow.

The costs are higher price, more weight, and a newer accessory ecosystem. Insta360 also states that Luna Ultra is not water-, dust-, or splash-resistant. Use it like a small camera, not like an action camera.

Buy Pocket 4 where DJI officially supports it

Pocket 4 is the cleaner choice for someone who wants the familiar one-lens DJI Pocket shape and lives in a supported sales region. The 20mm-equivalent f/2 lens covers the classic wide creator angle. The 1-inch stacked sensor, 10-bit D-Log, up to 14 stops of stated dynamic range, 4K/240 slow motion, and 107GB of internal storage are meaningful updates over Pocket 3.

Both makers rate 240 minutes at 1080p/24 with the screen and wireless radios off, so battery life is a paper tie. Pocket 4's 107GB of internal storage is the clearer practical difference. The fixed lens is also simpler: there is no focal-length decision and no lens switch in the middle of a shot.

For a U.S. buyer, availability is the problem. DJI's U.S. store still lists Pocket 3, not Pocket 4. An imported Pocket 4 may have different warranty coverage, return terms, plugs, app behavior, or service options. Verify all of that before buying from a marketplace seller.

I-Log versus D-Log

I-Log and D-Log are color profiles, not codecs. Both record a flatter image intended for color correction. Luna Ultra records 10-bit I-Log; Pocket 4 records 10-bit D-Log.
